Product Description

Beaune 'Clos du Roi' is a small, 13-hectare vineyard situated to the north of the appellation and is without doubt one of the best parcels in Beaune. This climat is characterized by a stony, sandy and very filtering soil. The vines are 70 years old. The fruit was 100% destemmed, with a short cold maceration, and two "pigeage" a day at the start of the alcoholic fermentation, then pump-overs during maceration for a gentle extraction for a total of 18 days. The resulting wine spent 16 months in oak - 30% new oak from the Allier forest. Aromas of spice and blackberries, with a bold and spice-laden palate, velvety tannins and a long finish.
